Young Aviators
          2006

Saturday 9th September 2006
Sywell Aerodrome

A superb day with fabulous weather, great athmosphere and a tremenduous success for all our Young Aviators, who we welcome to the worlds largest logbook.

A very quick thank you to everyone who took part yesterday in the wonderful Young Aviators day at Sywell Aerodrome. We were blessed with superb weather, a fabulous location and the wonderful support of many, many people both before the event and on the day.

               See the full report here

Special thanks MUST go to all the pilots who provided their aircraft, their time and their fuel and who flew in from various airfields to fly the Young Aviators (and some adults) on their flights, most of whom had never flown, let alone in a light aircraft. Altogether we flew 67 Young Aviators as well as 13 adults using 15 pilots and 13 aircraft - at once stage Sywell aerodrome was busier than Heathrow airport!!.

I would also like to thank all the Young Aviators and their parents for making this a very special day, which they all found to be fun, informative and one to remember for a very long time.

I will update this web page again soon with more details about the day itself, and also post some photographs of the happy faces, on what was a cracking day that will be remembered by everyone who took part.

Thanks once again everyone.
