Visits were also made to the Fire Station, Air Traffic Control and the the incredible War Memorial Room, which warrants a whole day's visit to itself. |
| Fleet Air Arm Museum & Cobham Hall Our first visit to the amazing Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton, with it's fantastic collection of all things naval as well as some rare Prototype & Development aircraft including a Concorde (G-BSST). The "Carrier" display is out of this world and is a real must for anyone who has never visited it before. Also visited was the facility at Cobham Hall which contained 41 aircraft in storage or under restoration and which is only open to the public on 4 days every year. |
| RAF Marham A terrific visit to this, the base of five Tornado Squadrons, and the last of the ubiquitous Canberra PR.9s in RAF service. Excellent hospitality was provided by our hosts, with a fine lunch and drinks in the Officers mess, as well as plenty of aircraft and a visit to inhabitants on the dump. See the story and photos of our excellent visit |
