Aircrew Forum 2005
The Ballroom, Bletchley Park, Tuesday 12th July 2005
What the Pilots said

“Congratulations on the organisation of a Forum that can only enhance the reputation of the Milton Keynes Aviation Society. The panel chairman had just the right touch - and Peter Spoden, with his great experience and excellent sense of humour.  I suppose, as I think you suggested, that there will not be many such gatherings in future. Thank you for inviting me, it was good to meet other members of the panel, members of your society, and such a 'switched on' audience whose questions illustrated their knowledge and enthusiasm. Your administrative arrangements and organisation were impeccable. It was a pleasure and an honour to be with you at Bletchley Park.”

Peter Fahy, PRU & 16 Squadron Spitfire pilot.

“Many thanks for the hospitality and friendship you have given my son and me.  Hugh was so helpful and arranged everything so nice at Cranfield.  I also found a nice book ‘Aircraft of the Aces’ in my luggage. Many thanks, don’t forget to e-mail me when you want to know something about German night fighting.   Many, many thanks and our very best regards.”

Peter Spoden, Me.110 & Ju.88 night fighter ace.

“Back home again after a trip of a lifetime.  Thanks once more for your gracious hospitality; it will not be soon forgotten. It was a glorious time for me. Regards to all.”

Sam Halpert, B-17 navigator.

“Thank you so much for all you did for us.  It was a memorable occasion, and we learnt so much, even after 60 years.”

Barbara Burbridge, on behalf of Branse Burbridge, Mosquito night fighter ace.
