From Russia With Love

Another superb lecture by Air Commodore Phil Wilkinson (ret’d) who returned with more of the Life and Times of a Defence and Air Attaché in Yeltsin's Russia: Obstacles and Openings - Penalties and Pay-offs.   A very entertaining evening was expected and we were not disappointed.

Flying the Technological Wonder that was Concorde

Captain Les Evans flew Harriers and was a test pilot in the RAF. He went on to fly the B747, B757, B767 and B777 as well as Concorde for British Airways. In this presentation he related the operational & technical challenges and pleasure of flying Concorde. A truly excellent lecture which was attended by a record number of MKAS members and visitors.

The past, present and future for aircraft and their engines

Dr Ken Ramsden BSc MSc PhD returned with part 2 of his lecture, this time concentrating on the history of aircraft engine development to novel concepts and materials currently under review at Cranfield University.
