easyJet - Onwards & Upwards
Samantha Day from the PR unit of our local low cost airline gave us an excellent update on the achievements and future plans for this very interesting and successful airline.
Handley-Page and the RAF
A very interesting lecture by Harry Fraser-Mitchell, Vice-President of the Handley-Page Association, who walked us through the history of Handley-Page and the company's links with the RAF. Harry covered all the key aircraft produced by Handley-Page, from the early days in World War One, through the V-Bombers and up to the Jetstream.

Luftwaffe Nachtjaeger
For this year's Presidents lecture, Steve Bond gave us an excellent explanation of the tactics and equipment of the German Night fighter force in World War 2, including details on key personnel and the leading Aces.
Caring For Concorde
John Manucchi, formerly of BOAC and BA, took us through the daily operations, problem solving and first major overhaul of the legendary Concorde, with his usual wit and unique way of dealing with things.

The Hawker Hunter - Britain's best post war jet fighter
A very late change of lecture saw Air Vice Marshall Alan Merriman, ex CO of ETPS at Boscombe Down, who was part of the development team of the Hawker Hunter, give us a very interesting insight into the Hunter's early years in the RAF in the late 1950's. Thanks for stepping into the breach Alan.

Large Model Aircraft Flying
A fabulous lecture on an intriguing subject, by Tony Hooper, Chief Examiner of the The Large Model Association. Tony flew models for the Battle of Britain Film, and also has 11,500+ hours flying experience.
Magnificent Miles
With unbridled passion and a great joy to behold, Peter Holloway extolled the joys of owning, operating and displaying his wonderful collection of aircraft which includes a Miles Magister, Falcon and Ryan PT22, to name but a few. Many Thanks Peter for a superb lecture.

The Plane Sailing Catalina
Stuart Powney returned to chart the history of the first Catalina owned by the group, until its sad demise in the Solent.

Fast-Jet Testing at A&AEE Boscombe Down 1959-1975
We welcomed back Air Vice Marshall Alan Merriman, who told us about the highlights of testing fast jets in the 60s and 70s, and which gave us all a wonderful insight into one of the world's most famous flight test units. Thank you Alan for another superb lecture.
Vulcan To The Sky
Engineering Manager Andrew Edmondson of the Vulcan to the Sky project came and gave us a cracking review of all the progress to date in getting XH558 back where she belongs..

Flying for 2.4 Years
James Young had everyone in stitches, with a hilarious set of tales and anecdotes from his wonderful life in aviation, starting with flying the ungainly Beverley with the RAF, to the Boeing 707 and then the mighty Boeing 747, first with BOAC and then British Airways.
The perfect end to our 2007 lecture programme.
