Annual General Meeting & Photographic Competition
Our annual report to the membership, as well as the 6th Annual Photographic Competition for the John Cox Memorial trophy, topped off with a quiz to keep the grey matter active..
Constellation to Concorde
A hilarious tale of working the line by John Manucci, who had a long and distinguished engineering career with BOAC and BA.
From tech problems with Connies, bent props on Britannias, corrosion on 707s, electronic glitches on 757s to fun and games with Concorde - John had a story for all of them. Excellent stuff.

James Nicolson VC
Flt Lt James Nicolson was Fighter Command's only Victoria Cross winner during the last war. His nephew Jim Nicolson gave us a fascinating illustrated talk about his uncle's incredible career.
A Very Special BAC 1-11
Nik Read gave us a superb lecture on the fascinating history of test flying that has been undertaken by G-ASYD, a BAC 1-11, now in his tender care at the Brooklands Aviation Museum

Gerry Cullen told us the incredible story of the unveiling of Halifax NA337 at Trenton, Canada, resplendent after a 10 year total restoration, having spent half a century underwater in Norway.

From Lightnings to Whirlwinds - Living with Aircraft
Graham Perry reviewed over 40 years working with aircraft and the vital contribution made to aircraft operations by aviation people, both military and civil, and in particular how they mixed openness and good humour with a firm professionalism to produce safe flying. With plenty of excellent slides and some cracking anecdotes.

The History Of Haddenham Airfield
MKAS member Peter Chamberlain stepped in to give us a very interesting illustrated history of this little known airfield near Thame, where he learned to glide in the early 1970s.
The RAF Museum & The Cold War
Dr Michael Fopp, Director General of the RAF Museum, gave us a superb update on the latest developments at Hendon, and the exciting new Cold War complex at Cosford, due to open in February 2007.

Jet VTOL since 1951
Another excellent and informative lecture by former Royal Aircraft Establishment pilot John Farley, who recounted the early development of the P1127 and Harrier. John OBE AFC spent 19 years contributing to the development of the Harrier, retiring as Chief Test Pilot BAe Dunsfold.

Not the Duxford Air Show, but a fascinating lecture from Mark Davis about the people and places associated with flying through the years. Including the story of the most successful British airliner of the 30s/40s - the Rapide.
