The Cold War - the war that never was

Spanning from the end of the Second World War right through to the IMF Treaty signed between the USA and USSR in 1987, the Cold War period was to cover a very long and interesting period of time, when the two Super Powers wrestled to influence and control various parts of the world, in their quest for domination, but who were also kept apart by virtue of the Nuclear Deterrent, which they had created and which was to maintain that fragile peace between the two Super Powers for so long.
