| Bomber Crew Forum |
Following on from the very successful Fighter Pilots Forum held in Cranfield in June 2001, the second MKAS Forum - the Bomber Crew Forum was held on Tuesday the 8th July 2003. Hailed as a great success by audience and aircrew alike, we were honoured to welcome such a distinguished panel of aircrew to the event, which was attended by 83 visitors and included an aircrew gallery, as well as displays by the Bomber Command Heritage Group, BARG (Buckinghamshire Aviation Recovery Group) and a sales stand from Aeroplane, who partially sponsored the event. The Bomber Crew Panel consisted of aircrew from a wide variety of types, as diverse as the Hart, Lancaster, Halifax, Lincoln, Wellesley, Bombay, Canberra, Victor, a senior Vulcan pilot who also flew the B-52, and a Royal Navy Buccaneer pilot. The format of the evening followed the tried and proven formula of the Fighter Pilots Forum and consisted of the panel of aircrew introducing themselves and then recounting their experiences and then it was open forum, answering questions from the audience. We would like to thank the following people and organisations, who helped make this event a reality and without whose support the event would not have taken place; Chairman Air Marshall Sir Roger Austin KCB AFC FRAeS RAF (Retd) The BCF panel - W/O Eric A.C. Barfoot DFC, Flt. Sgt. Jack Bromfield, F/O George Cook, Flt. Lt. A.A. Foster, Flt. Lt. P.C. Hearmon AE, Flt. Lt. "Lou" Kemp, Sqn. Ldr. Dick Kharegat, Lt. Stuart Leeming RN, Flt. Lt. Thank you also to John and Sallie Wright for all their help with the event location and the excellent buffet and to Liz Williams, Josephine Ryan and Bob Horne for all their help on the night.
